| Wealth,
Abundance and Prosperity are important concepts that are
found in many traditions which include Hinduism,
Buddhism, Christianity, and native traditions including
Native American. Although it has its roots and uses principles that are found in ancient traditions, The Wealth Tradition as it is known today was founded in 1987 by Maestro Santiago Villarreal, a Native American Medicine Singer of Aztec and Mayan lineage. While doing his Medicine Singing, he had a visionary awakening, became acquainted with the Spirits of Wealth, and has devoted himself to the realization of this vision. Laughing Bear was initiated into the practice of Medicine Singing and The Wealth Tradition by Santiago in 1991 and now he too carries on this work. The goal of The Wealth Tradition is to "enrich the lives of the people" by drawing attention to the process of sharing. It is a basic principle of The Wealth Tradition that everyone has something valuable to share, whether that be of spiritual or material substance. This is realized in a sacred ceremony, a "special" time to gather in celebration of the abundance in our lives and to invite, welcome and embrace the riches of the universe as ours to be in a place of "grace" that is our natural inheritance. Ceremonies in The Wealth Tradition draw upon ancient and Native American practices, and include the use of the Talking Stick, Medicine Singing, movement and dance, spontaneous music, smudging, giving and receiving, and the opportunity for each participant to declare, manifest and share what Wealth is to him or her. We believe that this ceremonial participation facilitates the movement of subtle energies in us; some participants have reported experiencing healing. Existing through the gifts of kindred souls, there has never been a charge (nor even a suggested donation!) to attend a Wealth Tradition Ceremony presented by Laughing Bear. It is freely given to all sincere seekers and, in turn, participants are provided an opportunity to give from their hearts to help support this work. Wealth Ceremonies are given in the Chicago metropolitan area. There is also an active outreach to other areas for both participants and sponsors. The Wealth Tradition exists through, and appreciates, gifts of money, goods, and service. |
